Access Statement for Summerlands Caravan Park, Salisbury
We strive to ensure that all visitors can enjoy the facilities, surroundings and ambience of the park. Our aim is to offer a warm welcome and to help in any way we can when you are planning your visit and during your stay with us. The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to contact us and we will endeavour to help.

Pre arrival
Summerlands Caravan Park caters for caravans, motorhomes (max 8m) and tents, we do not allow larger American RV style motorhomes.

Our website has full details of park facilities, with suggestions for local places to visit and links to their websites.

A clearly worded leaflet is available and can be posted to you on request, along with the current tariff and a copy of this Access Statement if requested.

We can be contacted by telephone, e-mail or letter.

We are a family run site and are happy to advise on the location and suitability of our pitches to meet your needs. Our site plan is available online and in our leaflet, detailing specific pitches or areas that can be requested when booking and we will do our very best to meet those requests. We take a deposit (see tariff for details) to secure your reservation, which in the event of cancellation is non-refundable.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
On arrival, please park on the grass verge in front of the ‘Welcome to Summerlands’ sign and report to Reception (the tiny house), via the gravel driveway. We do not allow pitching of tents or caravans between 9.00pm and 8.30am, except in exceptional circumstances and agreed by us, but late arrivals may use the emergency overnight parking area.

Although there are quantity 4 shallow (17cm high) steps leading to Reception, there is a bell (1.38m from the ground) also available to call attention (bleeper) across the site.

The track leading to the gate is made of tarmac scalping. For your security the park is accessed via a padlocked gate (4.6m wide), which we will provide you with a key for the duration of your stay. Please ensure you close and lock the gate behind you on entering and leaving the campsite.

Vehicles can be parked on your pitch in front of or beside your caravan, tent or motorhome.

The Park Itself
The park is a level grass site, there are no hardstanding pitches. A track running along the edge of the park is made of stone scalpings. The speed limit on the park is 5 mph.

Caravans please initially enter the site by second entrance at the far end of the track. Once you are sited both entrances can be used for coming in or going out.

Red pitch markers (including pitch number) indicate each pitch and beside this marker is a concrete slab showing the number of the site and the direction the caravan should face.

The jockey wheel, or front of motor caravan/edge of tent, should be placed on or near the slab.

The 16 amp electric hook-up, which corresponds to the number of your pitch, is marked on the nearest white electric plug point. Please do not use more than one heating type electrical appliance at one time (beside TV and lighting). Total consumption must not exceed 2,000 watts (2kw).

There must be at least 20 feet (6m) between each unit, including any awning.

Before finally siting, please remove the pitch marker and place it under your caravan out of reach of children. It should be replaced on leaving.

The shower/toilet block, water points, dishwashing and chemical disposal.
The park has a modern brick built toilet and shower block, accessed via a short and gently sloping concrete slab ramp. At the entrance to the block there is a small threshold strip measuring 3.5cm (1.5″) and a door 73.5cm (29″) wide.

No smoking is allowed inside the block and campers are requested to turn out the lights on exiting the building to keep the amount of beasties entering through open windows to a minimum.

All toilets and showers have a level entry tiled floor, even into the actual shower area, although this has a slight gradient for the wet-room drainage.

Toilet doors open to a maximum of 81cm (32″).

2 sinks 84cm (33″) high and 1 hand dryer are in each male and female toilet, with an additional sink in the ladies vanity unit and one electric shaving point in the males.

2 stainless steel sinks 89cm (35″) high with draining boards are in the communal utility area for dishwashing (including plate drainage rack) and clothes washing.

In the hallway there is an emergency phone (999 calls only) and notice boards offering information on local places of interest, places to eat, public amenities in the area and directions to supermarkets and caravan accessory shops.

For safety reasons, cycling or playing around the toilet block on the stone slabs is prohibited. Children (and Mums and Dads) are very welcome to play football and all noisy games in the mown section of the rally field in front of the house, please ask for details.

The park has 4 water points strategically placed around the park plus an additional dog walkers tap by the path to the bridleway, which is made up of bark chippings.

We have a chemical disposal point 89cm (35″) high and located to the rear of the toilet block. A motorhome dump point is located next to the track to the side of the wash block (18cm (7″) high), and 2 foul water points, each beside the 2 refuse areas (70cm (27.5″) high) with traditional black dustbins.
