Found a lovely site just on the outskirts of Coombe Bissett after an article in the MMM magazine where a lady called Anna & her Labrador ‘Pearl’ recommend walks & the campsite ‘Summerlands Caravan Park’ £16.50 per night which includes electricity, lovely small site very friendly owner immaculate facilities with fabulous views stretching out over the countryside. Took off the next day on the shorter walk 5 miles which takes you to Coombe Bissett where we had a pit stop at The Fox & Goose pub, after chatting to a couple of locals they recommended that we take the trial to ‘Strafford Tony’ where there is an historical church which only holds a service once a year St Mary & St Lawrence church, well worth the deviation. Back to the site for a relaxing glass of vino or two! After a goods night sleep, made our way to Salisbury, beautiful medieval city lots of charm, famous for its cathedral spire which is the tallest in Britain & the worlds oldest clock, also the best preserved of the four surviving original 1215 Magna Carta manuscripts, some interesting facts for you! fab day out.
